Historian Tamika Y. Nunley, author of At the Threshold of Liberty: Women, Slavery, and Shifting Identities in Washington, DC on the stories of Black women navigating life in Washington, DC in the 19th century.

Nunley is Associate Professor of History at Cornell University with courses and research focused on the history of slavery, African American women's and gender history, the early Republic, and the American Civil War.
